Range / Habitat: Subtropical / tropical montane moist forest (primarily 1000-2400m) in Mexico and Central America.
Field Notes: Large hummingbird, male with distinctive violet / blue head, neck and chest. Extensive white on tips of outer rectrices of both sexes. Female largely green with white breast and small amount of violet on throat.
