Masked Tityra

Scientific Name: Tityra semifasciata

Population Estimate: 5M to 50M

Range / Habitat: Found in subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest from both slopes of Mexico, though Central America, and into the northern half of South America.

Field Notes: Unmistakable bird with bright red mask around the eye and base of the bill. Belly white, back light grey, prominent black wings and tail band. These birds have a distinctive, fart-like call.
